The project
Hidalgo County Biosafety Lab
E-CON Group managed construction of a new biosafety laboratory for the Hidalgo County Health Department, funded through HUD's Urban County program. The 10,000-square-foot facility combines a BSL-2 lab, a certified BSL-3 testing laboratory, a public clinic with a drive-thru, and administrative offices. The lab can run microbiology, molecular, chemistry, hematology, and mycobacteriology tests for Hidalgo County residents.
